Wedding Thoughts

About this time next week I will be in the air on my way to Broome. It’s making me freak out just a tiny-eenie bit. I am hoping to find a good book and become engrossed in it, so much so that I won’t notice the ground whipping away below us. It better be a wonderful, magnificent book!

We’re still waiting on our rings and my bra to arrive. So stressful.

I had the weirdest dream about getting my dress dry-cleaned last night. The lady, who I couldn’t really see was more than happy to clean my dress, but insisted it was dirty in more than one place and that would cost me double. Before I was leaving the shop it started to pour outside and I was informed that when it was raining they put on an extra wet-day charge for their services. And that was it. Short and sweet. I woke up feeling like I’d just spent a lot of money that we didn’t have.

My brain has terrible holes in it – I HAVE to remember to call my Aunt tonight and check if we can stay there the night before we leave and the night we get back. I’ve been meant to do it for over a week now and I just keep forgetting. It’s so frustrating to all of a sudden not be able to keep a train of thought or to not be able to remember to do the important things.

I am currently looking for a bridal hairstyle. I had found one on Google Images that I loved and when I went to print it to take with me I couldn’t find it again! Since then I have been searching in vain for it! I can’t even find anything remotely like it and I will have no chance of explaining it to the hairdresser when I go. I’m such an organized bride-to-be!!

It’s strange to think this will be my last full weekend as an un-married woman. Especially as I was so against something like this, spending my whole life with some man, making him happy, cooking for him, having children. I didn’t want to be a housewife or in that position where you are so vulnerable to love someone else completely. But, really, it’s so beautiful because he’s been my best friend for so many years. I know it just wouldn’t work so well if we hadn’t had those years in confiding in each other about the things that were happening in our lives. I don’t know why you would want to marry anyone but your very best friend, honestly. I would hate to be in a relationship with someone who constantly made me cry or lied to me or wouldn’t talk to me – it would drive me mad. I really am very lucky to have come from such cynicism to having such a wonderful relationship with a wonderful man.

Blown Away

The recent Cyclone George and Cyclone Jacob in Western Australia have started making me nervous about our impending visit to Broome. I don't like normal storms and winds, I don't know if I could cope with horrible weather there.

I don't know what would happen if we ended up having bad weather on our actual wedding day, it says in some documentation we got that in the event of something like a storm coming over that they will 'try' to find an alternative venue. What happens if they don't? Do we just lose all our money and come home un-married?

The good thing is these storms have given me time to stop thinking about how fast our plane trip is sneaking up on us. I hate to fly. I'm worried I will need to pee heaps, like the pregnant woman I am. Or that I will get sick from the meal we get. Or that I will end up with deep vein thrombosis because I will be too scared to move the whole time we're flying.

I am almost half way through my pregnancy, unbelievably. I'm feeling disappointed that I'm not obviously pregnant to others - my bust is too big and it overshadows my baby belly.

I haven't felt any flutterings for a few days, it makes me worry. I can't wait for our scan next week so I can know everything's okay. I keep telling Bubba not to be modest and have it's legs closed, I can't imagine having to wait any longer to know if we're having a little girl or boy.

We Have A Dyson

And James is in love with it!! He's doing the floors now and is getting so excited. I keep hearing him laugh at another little feature he's found. It's too cute.

We also got a knife that is absolutly beautiful to cut with and a baby suit that says "Precious". We're really getting into buying baby clothes - we got some of the most adorable things on the weekend at an Allens sale.

We got our invitation for our reception today - I was very impressed. I have no idea what's being planned, which is fine with me at the moment.

Counting Down!

In two weeks time we will be married! I was just thinking while washing my hair how strange it is to have gone from planning an August wedding to it being March and our wedding being only a fortnight away!

James is walking around in his suit and new shoes that we bought yesterday, Scraps isn't sure about it all, but I think he's looking mega hot.

We are still waiting on some pretty important things to come and I am sure we have heaps to do before we fly out on Friday the 23rd... but right now I just can't concentrate. I have a shocking headache - Scraps keeps barking at night, just as I am about to go to sleep.

The Butterfly in my Tummy

I keep forgetting to write about Bubba’s movements! I always finish a post, get off the net and think “I’ve done it again!”

Deliveries

Tonight when we got home from work we had two big packages on our verandah. Our cot’s here! It’s so exciting. We can’t open it and put it up, though, as we have nowhere to put it until we’ve cleared out all our junk and done up the nursery.

The Simple Joys

I am so tired, but it's a good tired. It's the tired of a pregnant body after a big week and weekend and I know we've accomplished what we really needed to in order to relieve just a little stress.
With just two and a half weeks until James and I fly to Broome to get married, there was building pressure with us feeling the stress of knowing James didn't have a suit and not being sure where we could go to get a decent one. There was also the fact that we both knew very well he might never find something he liked.
Yesterday morning we got up early (before the sun, even), got in the car and drove to Wollongong. I think James was getting more and more worried about it all the closer we got and once we were there and had started to look he even tried to avoid the subject by taking me into Angus and Robertson! We made a fleeting visit to Tramps, then David jones and Myer. Each time James seemed to have a panic reaction and we left. After a drink at Gloria's we went back to Tramps and found that the first suit he'd glanced at was the one he wanted.
Getting served took forever, but eventually, as we were about to walk out we were helped. His suit is so perfect. He looks so good. The only iffy bit about it all was the shoes, which came as part of the deal.
It's good. I have a dress. He has a suit. That's a big thing done.
We still have things to do and time is getting away from us, we need to get;
* Bra (the one we got was too small for my newly enlargened bits)
* Shoes for James
* Random clothes for Honeymoon
* Tiara
* Nails
* Our Rings (have been ordered)
I know there will be more to remember ... but, we're on our way to getting organised.

**********

Today I've only really done washing. Travelling really knocks me about and my energy is just non-exsistant. I've been feeling slight flutterings today, mostly this morning while I was laying in bed. It's the best feeling. It means I can stop worrying so much when I get a sore tummy or things because I know Bubba's okay because I can feel it. Those light little tickles put a smile on my face and I wish James could feel it, too. I know he wants to.
We picked some colours for the nursery yesterday, too. We went to Warrawong Baby Co and Baby's Galore and just fell in love with a blankie and a bassinet blanket. I can't wait to start on the room and start making it look like a baby's room.
Of course, getting into it might take awhile as the transformation from 'Junk Room' might take just a little while!!
I noticed this morning my tummy's really getting big and when you feel it, it's hard.
Since starting the second trimester I have been getting some pretty bad headaches, not fun. I have one right now and it just makes everything so difficult!
I'm off to bed to give my body some rest - this baby growing is very tiring!

We're Having a ... Race Horse!!

We had our very first Midwives clinic this morning. James picked me up from work and took me there, I still get nervous having to go there but having him come with me makes it easier.
