Rock 'n Roll

Ellie rolled from her back to her belly today for the first time. She has rolled from her side to her belly before but has never done the full roll until today. It is so so cute when she's concentrating on what she's doing. I am continuously amazed at how clever this tiny little person is. I love when she does something and just looking at her you can tell she knows she's being smart, like when she's sitting playing with toys with perfect balance.

Just before I put her to bed I got out a plastic lunch box and plastic spoon for her to play with. I showed her that banging the spoon on the box made noise, she grabbed the spoon and was into it straight away.

I've set up a basic page for my scrapping, if you want to take a look click here and let me know what you think!!

5 Months Today

Thumbnail image for Thumbnail image for Tired Bubba
Ellie is 5 months old today, how time has flown! The poor thing is
currently in her cot having a cry because we've started letting her cry
to sleep. Believe me I know how horrible that sounds and it is the
worst sound to a mother's ears but it's been working. I tried the
gentle solutions, I tried rocking her, I tried anything and everything
to make it so she wouldn't have to cry to sleep but in the end nothing
was working. She would cry anyway.

The first few times were
the worst, now she just whinges on and off until she goes to sleep and
the times of crying are getting shorter and shorter. At first I felt
somewhat like a failure, having been so opposed to doing this from the
very start but I just had to accept that what I did want to do wasn't
working and that if I didn't want to still be having issues at 9 months
then I would have to do something about it. Generally she takes about
15 minutes to settle, which is good, though when she's crying 15
minutes seems like forever.

We've been out in the backyard
today, I am loving Scraps being away it means Ellie can come and sit on
the grass while I hang the clothes and then we can play with a ball for
a minute and James has put in our clothes line and some plants, it's
starting to look so good out there. I'm starting to worry about Scraps
coming home and ruining everything...
Cutest Washing Ever
She is sitting so well now and is working on figuring out how to crawl.
I can put her on her knees and hands and she'll stay there ans rock for
awhile then she'll try and move her knees. Eventually she gets whingy
because nothing's happing.

Speaking of nothing happening...
James and I aren't pregnant yet. We kind of assumed it would be easier
than this. We both imagined we would be expecting again by the time
Ellie was 6 months old, however that is looking unlikely right at the
moment. Oh, well... I guess our kids just won't be as close in age as
we had hoped.

Oh!! On the weekend we went to Campbelltown and went shopping. We found the cutest little shirts for Ellie we
bought the one in the photo --> that says I <3 Mum we also got Dad Rocks, Lock Up Your Sons and Grandpa and I have the same hair. They're adorable as. We have so much fun buying clothes and dressing her.

Gorgeous
My
beautiful baby girl has inspired me to get serious about scrapbooking,
traditional and digital. I am loving it. James can go do his gardening
and when Ellie's asleep I will have my own hobby to pursue. I'm very
excited about it all, I will start putting up my digital pages here
soon.

Anyway, I had best go do something while Ellie is sleeping, she's a good girl :)

Before I go, I have uploaded new YouTube Videos... See them here

My Clever Bubba Girl :D

Today we went to Nowra to pick up Uncie Caleb as he's visiting for the week. We left Ellie with Nanna, Grandpa, Nan and Gramps (yes, it's going to get confusing with three Nannas, four Grandpas and one Granny!) while James, Uncle Max, Uncie Caleb and I went to Bunnings. When we got back Nanna showed me pictures she had taken of Ellie sitting in a banana pillow playing with her toys. I was impressed and started
Ellie sitting
thinking we should get something like that for her so that she could happily play for longer as she's starting to get frustrated that she has to lie down.

Once we'd been home for awhile I took her into her room for a play, she had some tummy time where she kept moving backwards then I sat her up on her own. And she stayed. And stayed. She sat there on her own for about 10 minutes playing with her Lamaze musical garden while Daddy filmed. It was so cute. I am soooo proud of her! She is growing up so fast at the moment! The best thing she's doing at the moment (I think) is kisses. It's adorable, I say "Give Mummy a kiss?" and she comes at me with this big open mouth and plants it on me.

She's 4 months and three weeks old, which seems so crazy to me!!
