Today I am Grateful for Dandelions

The way Ellie lights up at the sight of a Dandelion growing in our lawn is something I never get tired of. They may be weeds, but for my 3 year old they're fun, magic and beautiful. After feeling sick all day and wanting to do nothing more than sleep, even when I couldn't, going outside to sit with the sun warming my back and watch Ellie's joy at having not one but three Dandelion's to wish on gave the day a much brighter outlook.

It's official, kids love blowing these babies! And I try not to be obsessed with trying to get rid of weeds out of our garden as a result. Me a control freak? Never!

Mummah, you need to get to our place. Our grass is full of them!

My girls have a book where fairies use the little pieces of dandelion to float around on(like Mary Poppins and her umbrella!)...so they love to blow on them and give the fairies a ride. Wheeeeee... :-)

Oooh so lovely!!
We have non stop rain for the past couple of weeks so our backyard was an overgrown jungle {until yesterday when Hubby finally got a chance to mow it} so it was filled with hundreds of dandelions!! My little girl also loves them & we had lots of fun rolling around in them {and getting itchy lol} & making plenty of fairy wishes with them!!
I love your photo!!
Hope you feel better soon!!!

It's beautiful that our little ones light up at something so simple and lovely.

It's the little things that light us up. Sometime I would like to plant a massive display of the humble dandelion to show that they're not always a dreaded weed.

Thanks for linking, Becky. x
