Update!

My promise of being a better blogger ended up being a lie!! Oops. So, I thought I would come and do an update on life. Firstly - James turned 26 last Wednesday, I had actually written a Happy Birthday post, which I thought I had published but musn't have... So - Happy belated Birthday to my love.

Kahlei is meeting milestones in leaps and bounds now that she is mobile. Last Thursday she said "Mumma" for the very first time - I was sooo thrilled as I've been hearing Dadda for quite some time. She also says hello, mostly in reply to Ellie and I swear I have heard her say Ellie, too.

That same day she started pulling herself up onto her knees, trying to stand up and cut her third tooth. It was a big day! Today, she has finally started crawling on her on her knees - before she looked like she was swimming, she would reach out with her hands, put them together and pull her body towards them. It was a very effective way to crawl, as she was so fast!

Unlike Ellie, Kahlei is happy to show off her newest skills on command. If I say wave, she will. If I ask her to clap she obliges. Very cute.

Ellie's growing up fast, too. She is forever telling us stories. While this is not new in itself it is new that she's actually telling us things she remembers ... and sometimes elaborating on that memory. Her favourite story is from when my mum and brothers came to visit for her party. She loves to talk about the 'Pileww' (pillow, ie jumping pillow). She will tell us about people jumping on it. Joshy, Max, Caleb, Nanna and Casey. At the start of these stories she would tell us 'a bit scary' but these days she is also jumping on the pileww. As is Kahlei. Sometimes, Daddy's on there and even more amazingly, sometimes Grandpa's having a jump (he didn't come). Once we've discussed this in detail we move onto the pool.

She's not been swimming in a pool before, but she saw Ethan and Caleb doing so. She'll tell us about the 'mawter' (water) and about swimming and splashing while making very convincing swimming actions for someone who has never actually swum.

Ellie is also treading very close to the Terrible Two line. She sure has some attitude and can often be heard saying no, mine, give me it, no, no and no. We've started using the naughty chair, which actually worked like a charm the first few times we did it, however she is now pushing the boundaries. The other day she didn't want to stay on it, I had to put her back on numerous times.

As for me, I am enjoying watching my girls grow up and the way they interact with each other.  I have been working on a full kit, which I hope will be ready in the not too distant future and have recently joined two more awesome CTs. One for Honey Designs and as a Pixie at Enchanted Studio Scraps. I am loving all the kits I have been able to work with recently. Honestly, I have not had one I've struggled with ideas. They've all spoken to me in different ways and I have been so happy with what I have come up with. I honestly can say that I work with some of the most amazing designers.

Speaking of which, if you're interested in going into the draw to win one of four cluster frames pop over to my CT Blog and leave a comment to go into the running! While you're there check out my newest LOs ;)

This is just one of the frames you could win.

Made by Holly - check out her blog here.

Right, I must be off now. I will try and be back sooner rather than later. If you leave me some love I'm sure I'll find the motivation ;)

As Promised :)

Here is my newest freebie!!!

You can download it here. I'd love to hear what you think.

Now, I am looking for some creative people to join me as a sorf of  'Creative Team' to get my designs out there and to give me feedback on my products. I hope to have a full kit finished sometime soon and will give the people that help me out now the opportunity to stay on as permanent CT if they decide they want to. If you're interested, email me a little bit about yourself at beckyandjames @ beckyandjames DOT com.

An old school friend was lovely enough to whip me up a gorgeous LO of her daughter. I'm thrilled to have her aboard!

Been Sick

So, we went to the Doctors the other week (was that the last time I posted? I can't even remember) and I have been sick since. It's always the way - we go for something innocent like immunisations (okay, that doesn't sound so innocent, but you get what I mean) or whatever and someone always ends up catching something. Luckily, I only had a head cold and tummy bug - not swine flu, as our Dr mentioned he had seen some confirmed cases and it really puts you off when you walk into the surgery reception area and there are people with face masks on. Of course, they don't necissarily have swine flu, it's a precaution the surgery asks you to take if you have flu like symptoms (or a precaution you take yourself if you're worried about what others in the room may be carrying), but you still sit as far away from those people as possible. Really, you should probably sitting closer to them, since they're actually doing the right thing and not sitting there coughing all over everybody...

All-in-all last week was miserable. I am feeling better now, however. Luckily - there is plenty to do before Case comes on Wednesday, my grandparents on Thursday and Ellie turns 2 on Friday. Can you believe it?

Speaking of which I need to clear the space where her pressie will go!! Before I go - some LOs.

Here is one I did of Kahlei's first finger painting experience using the newest kit by LDrag Designs called Doodle-luscious.

AND, I had decided to not join any more CTs for the time being, but then the opportunity to compete to be on Jeanette Bollinger's CT and I simply COULD NOT pass up the chance!! Click the link and check out her amazing designs. So, I did two layouts and made it onto her team, I am thrilled! Here are my first two layouts using All The Elements by Jeanette Bollinger Designs;

Okay, off to do something!!

It's That Time Again!

For round three of BOTCT we had to come up with and work to a formula as a team.

Our formula was;
10 – flowers
9 – buttons
8 – staples
7 – leaves
6 – ribbons
5 – stitches
4 – papers
3 - swirls
2 - pics
1 - Alpha

And here is my Layout

I really struggled with this, I simply do not scrap this way. I start with a kit or a photo and go from there - adding what I feel is needed as I see fit. Starting with a list and creating to fit that really put me off, but in the end I actually love what I finished with.

Check out the amazing layouts Erin, Jenn, Sarah and Brenda created here.

In keeping with the last two weeks I have another freebie for you to pick up and all I ask in return is that you vote COLOR ME CRAZY!

You can download it here. I'd love to hear what you think!

Okay, it seems Ellie isn't going to sleep again today (the neighbours are having work done and it's noisy). It's going to be a loooonnnggg week!

VOTE COLOR ME CRAZY!!
Thank you :)

Design Me This Freebie

This month's Design Me This challenge at Digiridoo Scraps has been more of a stretch for me than the previous months. I really struggled with the way my elements were coming out and with the coloring of certain things. Anyways, I finally finished a few that I was kinda happy with:

You can download it here. I would love to hear what you think and if you use them, see what you come up with!

Now - here are my newest LOs

BOTCT Week 2 Freebies

It's that time again! This competition sure goes fast, as soon as you've uploaded a layout you're thinking about the next one. This week the theme was to incorporate a musical theme into our layouts. We - team Color Me Crazy - decided on the song 1, 2, 3, 4 by Plain White Tee's. Each of us used a different verse on our layout, for which we used Color With Caryn's Happily kit and scrapped our significant other. Only them. No kiddos, no wives just our lovely men.

Here is what I came up with

Pop on over to the Color Me Crazy thread to check out the awesome work Brenda, Erin, Jenn and Sarah have turned in for this round. Don't forget to leave them some love. Once you've had a look-see don't forget to vote for us!!

This week I have created my first ever template and wordart. I hope you like it :)

IMG_9500Today we took the kiddos for a walk out to the point. We climbed over rocks and explored rock pools. Ellie is a real adventurer. She was so into climbing the rocks on her own.

IMG_9513We watched seals in the ocean (well, their flippers anyway) and searched for the whale that was meant to be out there.

IMG_9527Caleb found a crab, which had him intrigued. See him looking at me?? freaky.

IMG_9543On our way back to the point we checked out the shipwrecked boiler. Ellie had a good look around and was sooo cute!

IMG_9552James and I thought we saw a penguin... however, it turned out to be some other bird - so, here's a photo of 'not a penguin'

IMG_9573This is 'not a seal'. Once Caleb made it back to the point Caleb thought he saw the seals on the beach... I think we all need to get our eyes checked!

IMG_9564It was so much fun. The only problem was my toe :( it's still really very sore, so it made the whole thing harder than it should have been but it was so worth it.

IMG_9502 This is the kind of outing I have been wanting to do for a long time now and seeing the delight of Ellie made it so amazing. Kahlei really enjoyed it, too, even though she was exhausted.

IMG_9577Love family outings <3

And before I go - I just want to say YAY! Julie won MasterChef! She was one of my favourites from the very start. I am so happy for her!

And if you want to Answer Me This you can do it here.
