11 Months Old! Craziness!!

My baby girl is 11 months old today and not such a baby anymore. She is walking very well and seriously becoming adventurous. We have just been out the back, I thought we'd try the whole hanging washing thing again. As is normal these days Ellie was straight up onto the veranda, I was happily surprised to find that once I told her not to go near the plants she stayed away, instead choosing to explore. She kept standing holding onto one of the posts, looking over the edge of the veranda, but keeping away... Until I had pegged a sock and looked at her only to see her walking straight off the edge. She didn't make a sound, just rolled over and crawled straight back up to do it again. Apparently it was fun. It's not  a huge drop to the ground but it's not that small either as James has dug it out to help with drainage.

I know we don't currently have the money to finish the back yard but I really, really want it done. I have written about it before in my Yard Work post and the more time I spend out there with Ellie the more desperate I am for it all to be done. I don't know how we'll manage it but I think it's certainly something we need to focus on. Every day Ellie is getting stronger more confident and exceedingly curious. It just makes sense to me to get it organised.

Okay, Ellie's 11 month milestone from Raising Children, like normal what she can do is bolded:

By the end of this month,

• walk holding onto furniture (cruise) - Although she doesn't do this anymore

• pick up a tiny object neatly with tips of thumb and forefinger

• say mama or dada  discriminately
  
• say one word other than mama or dada - Her new word is "Bye Bye" which she said to Daddy on his way to work for the first time on the 14th of July

• stand alone well
  
• indicate wants in ways other than crying
  
• ‘play ball’ (roll ball back to you)
  
• drink from a cup independently
  
• use immature jargoning (gibberish that sounds like baby is talking a foreign
  language)
  
• say three or more words other than mama or dada - Hello, Bye Bye, Okay, No, Bub
  
• respond to a one-step command without gestures (give that to me – without
  hand out)
  
• walk well

Today I have a shocking headache, this pregnancy has just been one thing after another and I often have headaches!! Still, I feel like it's a better experience this time simply because of the lack of morning sickness.

I have terrible hip pains today also. We spent Saturday looking at two houses James's mum wants to buy and we did a lot of walking through paddocks, up hills, down hills and even climbing through fences which left me very sore. I can't imagine how humongous I will be in another 20 weeks or how uncomfortable. James's mum even asked if I was having twins! Yes, my tum is very big for 19 weeks.

The second place we looked at on Saturday, I wanted to buy and that's a huge thing because it was out of town and on land - which I am not really into. But, I loved, loved, LOVED this house. It was so perfect for us and I really wanted to buy it! I know we can't but I was sold.

Okay, I am going to take my huge tum and sore head to have some lunch then have a lie down.
