June Design Me This + P365

I have been a bad, bad blogger of late... but with two sick babies, a sick hubby and feeling under the weather myself I have found it too hard to wade through the fog that is my brain.

The girls are still sniffly and not sleeping great at night but they have improved. Ellie is well enough to run around all day like a nut and for the past three days has cut her day sleep down to an hour. Can't say I'm thrilled with that, especially as she was up during the night last night.

Okay, on to a catch up for P365!

I have no idea what kind of flower this is (James?), I've taken it for the Digiridoo Scraps June Photo Challenge

Now, this month's Design Me This Challenge has really had me stumped. I've been playing with my papers since my birthday and nothing has really come up the way I wanted. Finally, I have come up with four papers I can live with

Poor Bubbas

Both my girls are sick, poor little darlings :( Someone always gets sick after we go to the doctors!! Ellie was worse the last two nights but seems to be picking up tonight (she was running around like a crazy thing when james got home). Kahlei was okay the first night but has been worse since. She slept most of the morning and I am hoping a good sleep tonight will put her on the road to recovery, I don't like her not being her happy, content self.

Needless to say I am tired and on my way to being sick, too. Cuddling sick babies for much of the day and night will do that to you!

Now, I have some Project 365 to catch up!

Naughty!!

This afternoon, Ellie went to bed at her normal time but was still awake about an hour later. Having woken Kahlei with her chatter we could clearly hear her telling Kahlei off, saying "Naughty, naughty". When I went in to see what was going on Ellie was lying in bed and, obviously, Kahlei was still lying in bed, all snuggly wrapped. I asked Ellie what Kahlei was doing that was naughty and she replied "Jumping". I looked at her and said "Kahlei was jumping?" She gave me a cheeky smile as I picked up Kahlei and said "Poo". I wasn't sure if she meant she had done a poo or was telling me that Kahlei stunk (which she did), so I changed the bub and then asked Ellie if she had done a poo as she has been telling me when she needs a nappy change recently, she said yes so I changed her too. She was only wet, though, so I popped her back in bed for her nap.

After a little while of listening to her chatter some more I went back in and, turns out she was telling me she needed to do a poo. Duh Mum. A perfect toilet training opportunity and I completely missed it.

After that she finally went to sleep. Thank goodness.

IMG_7755As it had been raining, James decided to go outside and do some digging while the soil was still soft, so once Ellie was awake I put on her big jacket and boots so she could go outside and do some digging herself. She and Daddy start making what can be only called mud castles by filling her bucket and turning it out on the ground. When James would turn the bucket over and pull it up to reveal the compacted dirt Ellie would get so excited. It was wonderful.

I love these kinds of activities, especially when James gets in there with her. She does too.

IMG_7749

Kahlei sat in her rocker to watch. She is so into everything Ellie does. I can't wait until she can sit up (for longer than 30 seconds) and play in the mud with Ellie. I just know she'll love eating mud, grass, worms...

Speaking of worms...

IMG_7762

They were plentiful due to the recent rain and I thought Ellie would be thrilled with these wriggly little guys. Boy, was I wrong. Grubs and worms apparently freak her out. I wasn't there when it all started, with her holding a grub until she realised the chubby white thing in her hand was moving!

IMG_7750Every shovelful that revealed a wriggler would bring on a new wave of fear and plenty of cute little drama faces. I tried to get her to look at it with me, showing her that it was harmless while holding her firmly at my side but she didn't want to know about it.

Then there was this guy...

IMG_7790

IMG_7793

Once she was all done digging and building she came to sit by me and

there was a snail (a tiny snail) slowly (oh so slowly) making it's way towards her. As it got 'closer' she started shuffling her legs away and pulling her feet up. I tried to tell her it was harmless and show her it's shell but, again, she would have none of that and started telling me it was time to go inside. She has never done that before!! Ever.

Please excuse the formatting on this post - I seem to be having an issue that I can't fix right now. Grr. I am pretty sure James will see this and fix it promptly.

Mother of the Year, here I come!

I have had an upset tummy this week, between that and Kahlei sleeping badly thru the night I am utterly exhausted. So, Tuesday morning I get Kahlei settled for a nap, Ellie settled on her couch to watch In the Night Garden and decide to lie down while she watches it. As soon as my head hits the cushion I'm out - I don't see a single moment of In the Night Garden, even though the TV only went on a moment before it begun. Quite sometime later I awoke to a strange rustling. The first thing I notice is that Ellie is quiet and has had the television for much longer than her normal half hour. But, mainly, Ellie is quiet. I glance at her couch at the same time that I feel a weight on my feet and hear another ominous rustling.

I look and find my Angel sitting happily with an empty packet of Tim Tams on her lap, which she must have gotten off the wall which is behind the couch dividing the kitchen from the lounge. At first I wasn't sure that she had eaten them as she was much too clean but then I remembered James and I had only had one each the night before and there had been at least two left... Probably more. Still, she was awfully clean... I checked around her for any remains, finding none. She was very pleased with herself, which left no doubt in my mind that she had enjoyed a lovely morning tea!

Blocked

Of late updating the blog has been somewhat of a chore; which is why there haven't been all that many posts in recent weeks. I have plenty of ideas while away from the laptop. Ellie will do something and I will think "I must blog that" but when I sit down and look at the empty field before me I just can't. It's not even that I can't remember, because I can. It's almost as if I can't be bothered, but at the same time I want to. That doesn't even make sense.

So, for tonight, I will update Project 365. Hopefully, I will get my mojo back soon, because I miss writing here.

Tuesday Again

I actually had in my mind that today was Thursday, I was thinking about how I only have to get through a day and a half before I can have the sleep in I so desperately need and then something triggered in my brain, reminding me that it is only Tuesday.

And I was so looking forward to a restful weekend.

*sigh*

I am feeling so run-down, sick, exhausted. To top it off, dear Aunt Flo has arrived and is gracing me with her cramp-inducing presence.  I thought I was over whatever was plaguing me last week, instead I feel even worse.

I have had lots of topics I have wanted to blog about over the past few days, unfortunately, my brain simply isn't up to the task. So, I will file them away for another day and update my Project 365 today.

Day 83: Bless

Oops

I said I was going to post my Project 365 photos daily and then I didn't. I would make my excuses if I could be bothered, but I can't. Between my tantruming toddler and sleepless baby I am too exhausted to even remember why I didn't do it in the first place.
